The prediction areas of focus are selected with tropical cyclone forecast regions in mind.
All times are in UTC.*
Dashed lines denote the nadir path for each pass.
ASCAT METOP-B and METOP-C are plotted on the same image, denoted by the subscript letter next to the median swath time along the nadir path within the plot limits.
Each ASCAT pass shown includes two swath halves, color shaded to match its respective nadir path with the nadir blind range of 336km on each side with an individual swath width of 550km.
Oceansat-3 is plotted similarly, but without a nadir gap and a 1440km wide swath.
AMSR2 is represented with the GCOM-W1 satellite passes with a 1450km swath.
Swath shapes may skew slightly at the latitude extremes due to global map projection.
Altimeters are plotted as point measurements along the ground track.**
*Predictions are made by propagating orbital information obtained from TLEs into the future, each day predicting a week into the future. These are subject to change and, as such, predictions may not be perfect. Additionally, the time period in each image covers a 24-hour period starting 00:00Z with no date rollover.
